 Howard Vance

Classical Guitarist Howard Vance has studied, performed, taught, and composed for three decades.  His primary influence was classical guitarist Bunyan Webb. Mr. Vance received his Master's degree in music theory and composition from the University of Memphis in 1974 and opened Howard Vance Guitar Academy the same year. The school serves as an outlet for his arrangements, publications, recordings, and instructional material and recordings ( 4 CDs with a 5th on the way).  Howard lives to create and share his music.

Flutist Beverly Elliotte Vance brought home a school flute in 1967, and hasn't put it down since.  She first studied with Paul Eaheart, then Bruce Erskine at the University of Memphis.  Beverly earned a Bachelor of Music Education degree in 1978 and a Master of Music in flute performance in 1991.  Mrs. Vance has served as principal flutist with The Memphis Civic Orchestra and was president of The Memphis Flute Society. As a faculty member of the Vance Academy, she teaches flute and as the "Toot" in TootPick Publishing, she typesets Howard's flute and guitar publications.  Beverly has recorded 4 CDs.  Music excites her and it's contagious!
